Steve Pitts, owner of Steve's World of Golf is a native of the Tampa Bay area and has always loved the game of golf. He   realized that after years of shopping for golf equipment in the Tampa Bay area, no one company was concerned about selling   proper clubs that were fitted to him to make him a better golfer.

  After purchasing his first set of custom clubs in 1987 he saw an immediate improvement in his game. That is when the idea of opening a golf store to actually help golfers to become better golfers. By offering custom clubs at a fair market price and   not selling any of the name brand equipment off the shelf which is not for all players, Steve accomplished his goal.
 

  Steve opened his first store in 1989 on US 19 in Palm Harbor, Florida. This small store was known more as a golf apparel   and equipment outlet, but Steve still strived to help customers with custom clubs.

  After 10 years of selling custom clubs he realized it was time to step up the quality of those custom clubs and become better   than the name brand clubs that the local franchise stores were selling off the shelves.
